Sketchbook Project

Yeyyy!!!! I have received my Moleskine Notebook from Art House today! Why am I soooo excited? Because I am now officially a part of the Sketchbook Project 2013. This project is about forming a travelling library of artists’ books from all around the world. And I am one of them!

Participating for this project was pretty easy, I have logged into their site and registered for the project. It costs $25 for receiving a blank Moleskine notebook and registering. I have also paid around $20 to get my book digitized. When I am done with this book, I will send it to the Art House Coop and they will add it to the exhibition lot, and my book will travel the world! How cool is that? I haven’t categorized my book as I have a couple of ideas in my mind, we will see how it will end up… Follow the progress here in my blog and if you feel like joining in please visit their site: www.arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject/participate

Five Years in Japan

The Sketchbook Project made me think a lot….

This morning I watched the little introduction video for the project and suddenly found the title for my book: Five Years in Japan!

I will divide the book into five chapters (of years)  and share my experience. This will be an homage to Japan and its people for taking care of me for the past five years. As I am not the best drawer (although I have a BA in Arts:)- never been interested in drawing for hours!), I am thinking of using the collage techniques (which I love and I think very good at – Ego:)).

Just before the holidays and flying out to other countries, I need to pack my diaries and photos of these years.

Good luck for me!

One day on Earth

On November 11th, 11.11.11, across the planet, documentary filmmakers, students, and other inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period and contribute their voice to the second annual global day of media creation called One Day on Earth. Together, we will create a shared archive and a film.

This is a great opportunity for you to make a contribution to the project with your students. Just think about a project, go onto the website :http://www.onedayonearth.org/ , sign up and upload your work. It doesn’t have to be big,  a mini video or a photo would be fine. Have a look at the trailer:

I will be contributing by creating a wall garden in front of my window and shoot a video of the process. What will you do?
